Roy smiled warmly at the boy and slowly approached him as if he were an animal. He didn't want frighten to boy more than he already had. He reached out his hand and took the boy's hand in his own. "Come then," he said softly then pulled the boy to follow him. "I'll let you see the ship for as long as you want to." he held the boy's hand gently in his trying to calm his nerves.

When they reached the ship Roy could still tell that the boy was afraid, maybe he even regretted allowing him to drag him out to the ship. "Here," he said softly then let go of the boy's hand, he walked up a long plank of wood that connected the entrance of the ship to the dock. He stepped on to the ship and looked down at the boy. "If you really wish... any time you want to see the ship you may. It's my treat." he waited for the boy to join here. "Don't be afraid, I won't bite." he joked.
