Judith had spent most of the night tossing and turning, it seemed like her body was protesting a good night's sleep. She was having nightmares again, they always seemed to come back when she began to think that they would leave her alone. Every hour or so she woke up, her throat felt dry but her entire body was drenched in sweat. At one point she became restless and left her sleeping quarters to take a brief walk. It was always the same dream she was being chased by Dark Elves or some sort of creature that she had never seen before, she couldn't really tell what it was before she abruptly woke up. She would sometimes wake up screaming, though no one questioned her behaviour or asked if she was alright. Other men suffered from nightmares, it was common.
When Judith returned to her bed she couldn't sleep anymore. She had thought that taking a brief walk would calm her but all it really did was make her feel more awake. It was early in the morning now anyways, others would be up and then she would be expected to be awake as well. She let out a heavy sigh and rubbed her tired eyes. She wanted to go home but it wouldn't be allowed. Maybe I can pretend that I have gone insane, she thought and laughed to herself. It wouldn't be that hard to believe.
She pushed herself to get out of bed, she really didn't want to leave it's warmth but she had to. Judith pulled out clean clothes from under her bed and removed the dirty ones, once she was dressed she strapped her pouch full of arrows to her waist then her dagger. Judith took her bow then left. She had a feeling that it was going to be a tedious day. A few men said good morning to her as she left the camp, though she kept to herself. It always worried her that she was surrounded by men. Judith didn't think that all men were bad, but war changed people. It didn't help that one of the top men had been eyeing Judith ever since she was a teenager.
The forest shook as the wind pushed the trees and other plant life. Judith had been wandering around for some time, she was being cautious though. She didn't feel like encountering any enemies today or any other Light Elves, she just wanted to be left alone. She brought herself to a rather large tree and pressed her back against it. She slid to the ground and sat on the cool ground. Judith closed her eyes for a moment then opened them to examine the surrounding area. She wished that she could live in the forest. It felt so peaceful, it was quiet and it was beautiful.
