Hissssss! *Recoils in horror from the mention of the DnD movie*
There was no movie! It did not star Jeremy Irons because there was no movie. It did not have a moronic plot with a Beholder playing gaurddog for a thieve's guild because there was no movie, never mind that a beholder would be running said thieve's guild with the brain matter located in one eyeball while simultaneously running three evil cults and trying to dominate the next world over which doesn't matter anyway becuase there was no movie. *glares*
Now the *Second* DnD movie (which is a misnomer of course because there was no *first* movie) is actually not that bad, and it much more representative of the game.
I don't play MMO games either. I've thought about it, but never bothered. I'm a pen and paper DnD person too and have currently taken the role of family Dungeon Master since I'm the one without a job and has time enough to make the Dungeons.
Dungeons and Dragons is pretty much the non-tech precurser to role playing games at large. All hail the late Gary Gygax! ;)
(not really, but tis a shame he's gone).
Actually, ,if you want a fair idea of playing DnD, go get "The Gamers" movie or "The Gamers: Dorkness Rising."
