Well, I guess then the difference would be that online friendships are entirely voluntary and based on common factors... besides location... and it is true that my best friend, the only one with whom I have kept continuous contact, is one with whom my primary relationship is online, and whom I met online long before meeting in person. But I hope that you do come to feel that you can trust people offline, as well.
