Yukio is the leader of the two, like always, but he fits into the role easily. It fits him…or he’s made himself fit that role. He prefers to not think of the past, at least not at this point. It really has no bearing on what is happening now…except maybe having the endurance to go on through this since Yukio and his brother have went through worse in the past. He is not happy about being someone’s birthday present, but there is nothing they can do about it now…and probably not ever either, but they’ll both see as they go, now won’t they?
“We’re still alive. And someone with more power wanted us. And those with power always get what they want.” While those without, like the two brothers, are as they are now. No good choices because they have no power. And in this world, it seems very hard to gain power. And Yuki is right about his brother dragging him if need be. This is their present and future as of now. Running would only cause more problems for the two…or delaying the inevitable.
Yukio just smiles a bit, an almost invisible smile as his brother opens the door. He heads in, taking off his shoes as well. “Well, we were expected, brother. This person gets what he wants when he wants it I bet.” He’s never been in the position as his own is obviously…otherwise he wouldn’t be where he is now, but that doesn’t matter at all now. He just lets Yuki takes his hand. They could both use comfort deep down, even though Yukio isn’t showing it. He needs to be the strong one, the rock in the storm called their lives, but, as long as he has Yuki, he’ll do it gladly.
Yukio is also taking the area in, mainly for landmarks and the like. He doesn’t want to get lost in this large place. That would be embarrassing and possibly end in a punishment which he doesn’t want either. He tugs his brother closer as he notices the shaking. “Calm down. It’ll be alright since we have each other.” He tries to say in a soothing voice.
He follows behind his brother, a bit disgusted in a way by all the extravagant things. In his mind, it is a waste of money. How many people could have been fed or clothed or kept warm with all the money it took to have these things? But, it isn’t his money so he has no choice of what happens with it.
Yukio doesn’t interrupt or take the envelope from his brother. He’ll at least let Yuki try his best at reading the letter. Yuki can’t become any better at reading unless he practices the skill. It’s the same as learning from your failures (or successes). Yukio takes the letter looking over it, checking Yuki’s work in a way. “That’s what it says. Good job.” He says softly. He’s glad, underneath it all, that his brother is getting better at reading.
Yukio narrows his eyes a bit at the other male busting up in between them, but he says nothing for now. He thinks it is more prudent at the moment not to. He moves and takes his brother’s hand. “Let’s get to our room.” He says softly to Yuki before starting to lead the way to their room.
