Sorry, I didn't see your reply until now. Thank you, took me a bit to come up with it. I'm actually writing a book about Lucy and her adventures, might turn in to a series. At first I thought I could create three worlds. Werewolf, human and vampire. And that she falls for a were wolf and a vampire. It would be a love triangle. But then I thought that seemed twilight-ish and I've never even touched those books or movies... haha.
So, I eventually decided that she would be a vampire, and her love interest would a human. - nods -

Your character can be anything you want him to be. A admired and feared pirate captain or... like I've decided to do. He is a pirate, a well-known pirate. But he use to live in luxury as a king to be. He didn't like the thought of that, he was rebellious and fled from home to follow his dreams. He was only sixteen when he did this, so... and now he could be perhaps 21? Meaning that he has lived the pirate life for quite some time and during that he has worked his way up to be the most admired and feared captain.

But you don't have to do that. It's just an idea.
