This all sounds like a heck of a lot of bad luck and timing to me. It's Murphy's Law at it's "best"; anything and everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

The police should be involved if you're getting threatening messages, so good for contacting them. You've done nothing wrong, and they're not really letting you explain yourself as they seem to just ignore whatever you say. I agree with Fey; this is between you and your friend, anybody else who thinks they have a say don't and need to butt out because it'll only make things worse.

I will say this though; i know she's hurt and everything, but she should still hear you out with an open mind, you were really close after all and she owes you for that, at least. Other than that, the best i can say is ignore them. If they won't listen, and they keep acting so immature, then are they worth your time? It'd be tough going though, with all the stunts they're pulling.
