I"ll totally be devils advocate and point that that 1) there are no actual surviving dinosaur bones, what we call their bones are mineral deposits that fill in the areas once their bones bio-degrade. 2) many 'bones' are so small they can't tell us much, so this is probably the better use than being tossed aside into a random drawer in a lab or museum cause it probably helped fund some research.

So, really, yeah, people are that bored and that rich, but I bet some of that money went and did some good :)
