When the quarter was tossed into the air, Alex with out realizing it let his instincts take over. His arm reached out and caught the coin with out so much as giving it a glance, letting it roll from one fluid motion around his hand and shot it into the machine. His fist smashed into the Mountain dew button. If it wasn't for the carbonation he would have chugged the entire thing. With his brain fully charged again, Alex visibly turned to look over his papers but his mind was far from school. He took a seat beside the man on the comfy couch closest to an arm rest where he could put his soda. “Thanks man I really owe you one.”

Every few questions Alex glanced at the lazy teacher, was he still trying to sleep. He would have known him if he worked in his department. Alex bit his lip resisting the urge to hit the man again, after all he gave him a quarter, but the urge was driving him insane. Instead he tried again for conversation from the quiet man. “Why are you sleeping on the couch?”
