It took a great deal of effort for Rue to force back her pride and stay silent, but stay silent she did. She was getting what she wanted without a fuss, and that mattered more than putting the arrogant lout before her in his place.
She had been eyeing the place as the psychic spoke up for the rest of them, and disappointment with what she saw around her had begun to set it before she saw it on the wall - gleaming in a strip of refracted light, the most intricate and beautiful sword she had ever had the pleasure to see.
"That," she pointed at the blade and indirectly addressed the man in charge of dealing out their weapons, "will be sufficient for me." As she waited for him to retrieve it, she heard her name being called out and winced. At least it hadn't been her full name, and her psychic blocks were still firmly in place to protect her identity. Regardless of the minor annoyance, she hurried back to the man bound on the floor and knelt beside him in what almost seemed like a worrying manner.
"You incredible moron." Rue shook her head and sighed. The 'second voice' was gone, and it seemed to be the man himself at the moment. "Are you in pain?" She snapped at the nearest guards, "Untie him at once!"
