The soft voice was a surprise to Alice. She hadn't expected it and stepped back away from the bars. Without her voice how would she talk to anyone. No one was ever in here before. She had thought the current was another step in the torture, but if it was him... well, there was no way to know for sure if he was a good guy or not.
Hope swelled in her. Maybe she wasn't alone. Even being mute the happiness was over whelming. She stepped back up to the bars to see if she could see him. Maybe she could wave her hands about and try to convey a message to him. Maybe he could help...
She looked again at the cells. Two over across the way she saw a boy. Face unhidden by magic. Even in the dull light he wasn't hard on the eyes. She waved her arms up and down. Trying to get his attention. He was just staring into space. Nothing drew his eyes to hers. She didn't understand. Was he not really there? Was this all in her mind? She stopped moving and tried to push aside the pain.
She was weak, wounded from all the time she has been here, and even more wounded after his attack. Even though he hadn't meant it to hurt her... It fact, it wouldn't have hurt most... But her body couldn't deal with it very well. Fire, currents, heat, etc. Most of it just drain her energy as she would force herself to heal in order to look normal, but with nothing to spare in this place... she would be in this state for a while... Unless they would heal her back to full health..... They didn't seem like the type to care if she lived or died.
She stomped her foot down in frustration and he focused on her more clearly. She saw him adjust to see her. Or at least that what it seemed. Yet his eyes were still not clearly on her. Just the general direction. It was odd...
Alice looked away from him. Turning her back to the bars. Tears ran down her face. She hated this. Her hair fell silently in front of her face. Her shoulders started to shake with the silent sobs. It was getting hard for her to breathe. She wished for the first time in her life to die, and knew in her heart if she spent to many more days here she would have that wish fulfilled.
What was she gonna do...
"It's in the stars.
It's been written in the scars on our hearts.
Your head is running wild again, my dear.
We still have everythin'.
We're not broken, just bent.
I'll fix it for us.
Our love's enough. "
