I wouldn't worry too much about a "good" topic. Just pick something you are interested in. That will at least give you something to say and things to talk about. That makes it easier to use the thread for chat.

There's a thread on chocolate in the central square. It's reasonably popular, so I took a shot and made one on tea because I love the stuff, and it's gotten some attention so far. :).
