Background (in a basic, flexible form): Being adopted by parents for his natural psychic abilities, Michael was pushed hard to train his psychic ability to try to impress the Sibyl, who they nearly worshipped like the new god of the realm. On his eighteenth birthday he was presented to Jez’ebel and she pried into his mind, mentally scarring Michael. After a meeting with the first Artificer he had seen in his life, Daniel, he devoted his life to the cause, researching a way to form a shield around the mind so that no man may have their thoughts invaded by any being in the universe.
