Despite looking like a shooter, it really is an RPG and if you get unlucky with weapon drops, it can make it really hard to deal with the enemies. Plus, some enemies require certain types of weapons to take down easily and if you don't get a good one to drop, it can make it really miserable trying to get through.
As for Halo, despite playing the second game nearly to death (only one I ever played) I can barely remember anything about that series.

I like RPGs, It was tough because of the two elements actually. I am bad at shooters and just couldn't win a fight...easily without basically grinding but I didn't like combat to begin with so bleh. The only time I got anywhere was playing with someone but I always felt...useless so didn't bother with Borderlands any further. Just wasn't fun if my ass was handed to me on a plate xD (Same goes for Final Fantasy Dissidia ;-; )
haha Yeah I played 1 and 2 to death. I was a big fan. Part of two sites, and knew just about EVERYTHING in the halo-verse. Read all of the 4 books availible at the time too. The only place I faltered was the weapons and exact year of events. I could land in the decade or half century (if tracing that far back). xD Now I barely remember anything at all =\
