"Basically, Charuns are the spirit world's bounty hunters so to say. You four..er..five including my mother, are the bounties. You defied the law of Vanth, the ruler of the Ethereal World. That's why Azriel and Mystic became so weak after the reattachments...they have to break the bond to the Ethereal Realm and work around Vanth's laws. It's a very difficult process. I'm surprise though, that it took them so long to get to you...they should've been after you the minute you guys left that place."

You can detect them much easier than a demon..since you're vampires. Charuns cannot be detected by any living creature, but since vampires are technically undead, they can pick up the presence of a Charun if they're looking hard enough."
