Behel turned at the sudden intrusion, one hand immediately springing to touch the handle of his knife. One could never be too careful, especially in his current bizarre situation, and the intruder carried some sort of blade that he couldn't identify.
Still, the Tangi couldn't decide if he was a threat or not. Was this man the reason he was here or had been brought here like him? He wasn't even exactly sure what he was. Behel's gills flared out, a quite useless gesture on land but a nervous habit nonetheless. He hated uncertainty.
"May I assume," he started after a moment of hesitation. His voice was quiet and soft, but there was something predatory in it, as if he might at any point go for the neck. "that you are to finish whatever business you brought me here for or are you a man in a similar situation as I am?"
Perhaps it was due to panic or due to the fact that his attention was hyperfocused on the man, but he gradually become aware that there was a woman sitting at the bar. He cast a quick glance over one shoulder, eyes narrowing until they were hardly anything but slits. A woman, yes, but he hadn't a clue what she might be except that she certainly wasn't any Tangi woman. Isto perhaps? No, as strange a lot as they could be, he hadn't heard of one with hair the colour of water and wings like that.
Perhaps she was an alien then. That seemed the likeliest explanation. Behel's knowledge of the other planets was limited at best, since not many aliens ventured where he lived and the few Kalin residents he had met were reticent at best to reveal anything about the outside worlds. What lovely hairpins though. Perhaps he ought to acquire them for himself.
"Well then, three people here. Interesting."
