Give him the catnip cardboard box and add that cat nip on it like rubbing onto the cardboard box would help him to relax yet nutty scratching the box. Or play with him before he sleeps. I normally picks him up and hold him close to my chest so that he can hear the heartbeat to mellow him out. >_>;
