Four Years Ago:
Hayden staggered a bit before falling to her knees. She pulled out the knife quickly, but carefully. She was already low on power due to her lack of blood and her earlier wounds. Suddenly, she felt fear as black dots clouded her vision. No, this can't be. She couldn't die this easily...but then again; lack of blood. She made her way over to Solomon, taking the knife and pulling it across her wrist. While vampire blood held no 'nutritional' value for a vampire, it was still very powerful. Solomon would need every bit he could get to save himself and Holden. She held her wrist on Solomon's mouth as she fell over, death slowly taking over...
She had no idea how much time had passed since she felt herself slip into permanent unconsciousness, but she had a feeling that it wasn't too long. The first sensation that came to her was the warm liquid being sent down her throat. Blood. No matter how she much she wanted to, she could not open her eyes, move, or speak. She could smell something behind the blood, a familiar scent near and dear to her. Solomon... He must be feeding her the blood. How she survived the sword to her heart she was unsure of right now, but she didn't care. As long as she could be with her brother. Unfortunately, she couldn't feel herself healing. It wasn't working. She would die and her brother would be left all alone. Before long, she was unconscious again; near death.
*** One Year Later:
She had no idea how much time had passed before she awoke again; pain an instant sensation. When she finally was able to open her eyes, she was thoroughly confused. She lifted her hand as high as it would go, touching the soft surface with her tiny palms. Cotton? What does this mean? she quickly felt around the tiny space, her eyes widening in horror as she came to the realization she was in a coffin. She shook for a moment, how could this be? She pounded her fists on the top of the casket, tears rolling down her cheeks. She had almost no power, she couldn't teleport out of here..but..wait! She had enough for one quick telepathic message. She couldn't scan a large distance, but she went straight for a mind she knew would listen. "Serus? Seth?" Even sending that tiny little message was too much and she couldn't hold consciousness much longer. She needed blood..and quick.
Serus tilted her head suddenly, mid conversation to Seth. A puzzled look came across her face, "Seth..did..did you hear that? That..sounded like...I swear I heard our names..." She continued to mull it over for a moment, then looked back to Seth with her red eyes.
