Yawning silently, she re-settled after he adjusted himself. She had felt when he said it that he hadn't meant monetary payment. She had still meant what she had said, however. She never asked anyone to invest anything in her -time, money, feelings-that they didn't want to. She didn't want anyone to feel obligated to her, because there were few people in the world she felt obligated to. She didn't think it'd be fair.
