William showered quickly. He exited the shower and placed a towel around his waist. He gazed at his face in the mirror, examining were the cut had been. It was just a pink line on his face now. He pulled on a pair of dark jeans, dried his hair with a towel, and exited the bathroom.

As he stepped out into his apartment and felt strangely alone. Had she left? He looked around spotting her note and picked it up, reading it. He felt a chill go through him.
