William's entire body tensed as he felt the presence of another vampire. He could do so easily now, though when he had first met Artemis he had significant trouble with it. By the time he had mastered it he already saw her as a friend.

His first instinct was to pull out his weapons and attack, but he resisted. He got the feeling Artemis would want to handle this, though the idea put him on edge. He heard her words, though just barely and felt his blood run cold. Part of him was sure she had to be bluffing, though after tonight he could not be sure. So he froze, his eyes shifting around, waiting for a sign that he should interfere.
