It was rare that Alina went out on a date with anyone. Rarer, that she decided to bask herself around a crowd full of people who were very much alive. Musing to herself, the vampire sat in the passenger seat of a ... very run down vehicle, whilst sitting next to a very run down person. He was a tad boring, not that Alina minded much, she was just using him as an excuse to get out of the school walls for awhile. It never really occurred to her that this was a date, or anything beyond platonic in the least. Besides, she was a nice person, and couldn't help but say yes. August told her sometimes, she just had to say no. At the moment, her lifestyle hadn't given her any problems, so she didn't mind saying "no problem!" to just about anyone. They pulled into the movies, and after they had gotten their tickets to a movie Alina wouldn't even remotely like, they got in line for snacks. "Popcorn? Candy?" The teacher, whom, she didn't even work with, offered towards her. The woman nodded her head, chose a pack of chocolate covered raisins, a water, and a small popcorn.

It still ceased to amaze people that she could only be half undead, and still eat solid food. Sure, the woman didn't have an appetite for anything other than blood. But that didn't mean she couldn't indulge herself with human food, just to prove them all wrong about her. "Yeah, I can sure pack it away!" She smiled, answering his thoughts. Alina knew tonight would end up in shambles. Most people didn't know she could read the thoughts of others. Much less, control said thoughts, and emotions. She kept that little tidbit to herself. She was already branded a freak by most of her students, she didn't need to HEAR the thoughts of the man she was supposed to be out on a date with. Ah, well, so be it. Normally, she'd throw up her mental shields, and try to guess what the person was all about. But this one looked a bit ... odd. She didn't trust him much. After they'd gotten their snacks for the evening, Alina took the lead into the room where the movie would be showing. It wasn't terribly packed, so it was something she could handle. Then again, the movie hadn't even started yet, she knew people had a tendency to pile in at the last minute.

Swaying herself up the stairs, she chose the last row. Why? She liked sitting higher up. Her date, though, didn't like it one bit. Then again, after viewing the rest of the room from way up there, he began to think differently. Alina rolled her eyes, sometimes, she hated men. Her shadow had followed her in silence, knowing all he was gonna do was sleep that evening, which of course, was just fine with him. Sometimes the woman didn't know how the hell she was paired with him. Rowan was far too lazy sometimes. Settling down in her seat, she threw her shoes up onto the heads of the chairs, crossed her feet at her ankles, and slapped the tub of popcorn between her legs. "So, why did we pick this movie again? I heard the reviews for it were terrible." But she didn't need his answer, because she already knew what the slime ball had up his sleeves. There was no one in this entire island that was getting their hands in no pair of alina pants tonight. Besides, the people who knew her should have known better. But then again... she didn't even know him. So, there went that train of thought.

The previews began playing one after the other, before the lights started to dim. She was excited, mostly because maybe she wouldn't have to keep on with conversation. And this, was why she didn't go on dates. No one held her interest for long. Sighing, the last of the previews started to roll, when the cellphone in her front pocket began ring repeatedly. "Ahhh, fucckkk." She had made herself comfortable, and forgot to turn off her phone! Damnit, that was just so like her to be inconvenient. Oh well. handing over the tub to her so called date, she stood up, removed said phone from her pocket, flipped it open, and looked at the caller ID. August? Wasn't HE supposed to be on a date? "Uh, Hello? August? Why the hell are you calling me in the middle of your wine and dine? Did you scare the poor woman away already?" She smiled to herself. The gentlemen next to her, however... not so smug anymore.

Somehow, Alina found that pretty amusing. Rowan's ears twitched at the sound of August's name, and popped open an eye. The shadow wasn't much of a talker, obviously. He kept to himself unless he was needed. Sitting back down, she noticed farther up front, someone was using their cellphone, too. So now she didn't feel too horrible using her own before the movie started. Then again, it looked as if it was only Alina, her date, a few people scattered in the front row, and the other person on their cellphone. Alina would make it so that she was on the phone until seconds before this movie began. At least August would keep her interest until then.
