what's hidden and not to be seen
sleeping in light, the time is right in
living in an endless dream
obscenely hidden from friend
and foes sight
battles to be fought and wars to be waged
all while looking out into the dark
to see what can be seen
a possibility and a dream

so fear not friends for the dark is kind
for it guards you in its sleep
and it feeds on the souls of those
ready to die
for a twilight names the meek
who wanders
the eastern shore and sea
or flies in the western sky
or murmurs of the days to come
succumbing to the daily lies.

so fear not friends for the dark is kind
it makes the unlivable ones believe
in the life that lives on beyond the night
the darkness with what is seen.
