Maia did as the woman suggested, the lofty treatment going almost unnoticed. She paused outside the doorway to the drafting department, gathering her thoughts. He would be in there, the one who was more handsome than anyone doing a geeky job had a right to be. She took a deep breath and walked in, skirting the piles of blueprints waiting to be messengered and cleared her throat to draw the attention of the employees. "Ah, 'scuse me! Does anyone need to place any special orders for office supplies?"
She was more confident here than in Rebecca's office. It was women, particularly female boss-types that intimidated her. Men tended to treat Maia with what she saw as avuncular kindness, or at worst, ignore her, and that was not so bad. As long as she didn't make eye contact with him, she'd be okay.
