Sadrain: do you try different painkillers, or just one? Because it might be tension headache which responds best to caffeine, or it could be a fever, which most painkillers don't do anything to reduce. I recommend naproxen sodium (aleve), ibuprofin (advil), or caffeine (excedrin). If that doesn't work, there's always aspirin (tylenol).
