You guys were sort of talking about it like it was Tim Burton's idea to sing about death and murder, so I just had to clarify. Tim Burton's only input on the movie was the casting decisions, really - everything else, from the music to the costumes to the characters - was already established by the Broadway show.

I've been to two Broadway-style musicals. "Monty Python's Spamalot" and "The Lion King on Broadway".

God, the Lion King one was the best thing ever.
