I'm at uni in England.

In my first year I lived in Halls, which was $624 a month. (Following lots of calculations including the conversion to dollars...)

It had all been built a couple of years ago, and I lived in a flat with 10 single rooms, (single rooms are the norm in England) all with teeny ensuite bathrooms. It's a space-saving layout but everything was very new and nice.

There was a large shared kitchen with a big table and a sofa, a hob, grill and microwave.
It was interesting, although someone in the building set off the fire alarm every other night (at about 2-4am) and we'd all have to go stand outside for 10 minutes.
They got so common I just ignored them - but there's an alarm in each room, so for the freaking ANNOYING sound not to bother me, I had to go into my little bathroom, press big headphones to my ears and listen to rock music.

Now in my 2nd year, I'm sharing a house in town with 3 friends, all girls. We all have our own rooms.
It's a 10 minute walk to the city centre, and a 10 minute bus onto campus. I love being with friends.

The house old and the downstairs is cold, but the kitchen's newly fitted, the windows are double glazed and the beds are comfy.

Next year, I'm studying in MA. Funfunfun. Back with Freshers, and sharing a room!
