Dacorum saw that coming -- he knew that his choice of technique left him open while his back was turned. It was, in fact, intentional: it would either strike soundly, or it would entice his opponent to exploit the apparent weakness. So when Taishi touched his armor, he was ready; her spell is cast, but instead of jumping back she finds her arm locked between his armor and the shaft of his weapon.

He sweeps Taishi's legs and attempts to plant the red gem on the pommel of his glaive into her chest as she falls.
