A*DIC*TED
Well firs they ised a gel to numb the surface for the shots, but naturally they didn't wait long enough and I FELT THOSE SHOTS. Also about a minute after he gve me the shots he tapped my lower lip and asked me if it felt numb and I was like "Um, no, it's only been a minute..." and so he gets another needle and injects me with even more numbing stuff. Then abandons me for five to seven minutes while I slowly become a drooling face blob. When he came back he was all "Numb now?" and I nodded and tried not to dribble down my chin. So he goes in with his drill and it's all hunky dory except when he gets to one tooth I felt the drill and my hands clenched into fists and my toes curled but I have three different tools in my mouth so I couldn't vocalize without choking.

Anyway once he finished with that tooth he started putting in the wedges. All this time he is constantly telling me "tip your head back, tip your head forward, relax your tongue Open wider" and stuff. And I'm doing my best to follow instructions but my tongue refuses to be tamed and my jaw refuses to stay as wide open as he wanted. So he props my jaw open with a piece of plastic and after about five minutes of my jaw being that wide pen my jaw is in excruciating pain caused my it being open too damn wide for too damned long... So eventually after the wedges are in and he's prodding around with other tools he asks his assistant to hold my tongue outta the way, which I don't mind, I mean I'm half numb I can barely control my tongue so someone's gotta get it where it needs to go. Anyway the filling went in and the wedges came out and they were done within about 45 minutes. I still have the left side of my mouth to be worked on.

I looked in the mirror in the car and the stuff they used for my filings looks bizarre, it's a material I've never had used in my mouth before, it's not metal but it is gray. And it feels rough instead of smooth. Linda like some sort of unglazed ceramic. Also the fillings basically go from my rear molar all the way forward four teeth. It's pretty expansive and I had no idea I needed fillings in those areas. Also there is one spot of the filling material that is really sharp near the back. I dunno if they ran out of time and they are gonna do more work on my right side or not but this definitely wasn't as relaxing as I would have hoped it would be. Normally I am very relaxed at the dentists...

I go in again next week.
