It's exciting, but a pain in the butt. If you have the money, I'm sure it's not that annoying until the community is up and running (and demanding items and features). I'd have to say the two most difficult things to do are: (1.) Coming up with a unique name and look that will attract users but define the site as something different (and not get you in trouble with theft of ideas. Oi.); and, (2.) Finding a pixel artist and/or coder. (This one is especially difficult for those tight on money. I ended up abandoning my site because of this reason.)

Otherwise I guess it would be easy enough to create it. ( But then, once everything has taken off (assuming you did take off), you would need to handle your staff and community... Just more work. xD; )
