My dad kept the fishes, actually, it was complicated, with special gravel and boiled water and a filter and a bubble curtain and whatnot. It was a nice thing to see, a well kept aquarium, healthy fishies and all, but gawld did it take effort. And dear Gonzo XD lived so long my dad had to know why he stopped, I didn't want to see actually.

And in elementary teachers thought it would be nice if each kid from our grade sent a fish I sent a pink little catfish or something like that, who had only one eye and I insisted was a pirate, others sent guppies and other cute little things, and one kid sent THIS ONE BIG AGGRESIVE FISH THAT ATE MOST OTHERS. It was trauma central.
