it is truth is hard to mate betas you have to have the correct water temp an settings to get the male to build a nest an all of that then to encourage the female to even want to.. though apparently the settings are slightly warm water an algae -.- i had left them in my mothers care for a few days an so the tank didn't stay as clean as i normally liked it Dx

though i did learn that the male will fight the female after the eggs are in the bubble nest (if thats the type of beta you have) seeing as she will eat the eggs or offspring, so i ended up having to set her in her own tank as well
