you know, I don't quite remember where I came across The Weepies! XD I think it might have been one of those bands where iTunes said to me, "hey, since you have this music, you might like these guys too."
of course, that marketing technique doesn't work on me because once I listen to samples of the music, I go and borrow the CD from the library and put it on my computer for FREEEE. <3
World Spins Madly On is one of my two most favoritest Weepies songs. The other, Riga Girls, doesn't have an official video, but the song is really great. you must listen.
a band that I think is a lot like The Weepies but leans slightly more towards indie pop and less towards folk is Stars. I bet you'd like them too.

There are a lot more great folksy artists out there. these are just a few of the ones that I like, and they all have a lot of really fantastic songs other than the ones I posted. if you feel compelled to explore even more, I would look though the last.fm listing of top indie folk artists. last.fm is a genius when it comes to music. it knows what I like, and it's magic.
