yeah. around halloween most grocery stores I've ever seen sell kits with basic pumpkin-carving patterns, a couple (small, flimsy) carving knives, a hole-poker, and a scooper/scraper thing. my friend bought a couple sets yesterday for, like, a dollar each.
but without a kit, you can do basically the same thing. just tape whatever picture you want to carve on the pumpkin, take a fork or a skewer or something, and poke holes along the outlines. then you take the paper off, and you can see all the holes you poked. they make a dotted line. carve along the dotted line, and ta-da! it's basically like tracing a picture onto a pumpkin.
