you don't have to create a character, but I guess it depends on what theme of mafia we play around. I've never really created a character when I've played internet-mafia, but sometimes I do when I play at parties. then again, that depends on our storyteller. my friends are awesome at incorporating everyone in the room into the story, and giving us crazy lives and relationships and THEY ALWAYS KILL OFF MY KIDS!
