Pomegranates are tricky to prepare. You'll have to cut open the tough coating into pieces with a knife and then try to separate them. It's hard to get the seeds from the white part, so it helps to put the fruit in a bowl of water. The fruit's delicious, but honestly, I've found that they're a little more trouble than they're worth. >.>
