I've been really busy lately. @.@ But in a good way.
I've gotten a lot of praise at work. I took the initiative to make a tool to help collect and organize all of the legal disclaimers for the open-source software that goes into our product (which itself has an open-source version). It ended up being a lot more complicated than I expected, and it's taken me a month of work (including a lot of unpaid overtime because it was surprisingly fun to work on so I ended up losing track of time in the evenings) but people have been
excited for it, including my manager and one of the VPs.
But what's currently got me feeling even more awesome than that:
Rocky Road
I don't know how I wrote this or when I learned the skills. I can't stop listening to it. It doesn't sound like I wrote it. It is a
massive leap beyond anything I have ever composed before in every way.
It makes me kind of giddy, to be honest. I've wanted to be able to do this for 30 years -- I'm still using the same music editing software I used in 1998! -- and now I've proved to myself that I
can.
