Because I got a rejection.

Oh, they said that I did very well and that there was another candidate that was a better fit, and they said that there might be another role.

So I asked what I could have done better and that I would certainly be interested in any other roles they might have to offer.

And they said they can't say anything about areas of improvement, and that I should wait six months before applying again.

I can't bloody wait six months!

Oh yes, you fit every criterion, but we found someone else we had a better feeling about.

I wouldn't take it personally, honestly, most employers burn through talent.
