Yeah, I get what you mean. Sometimes it's just hard to tell what projects multicolored yarn will work for and how long the color gradients in yarn are until you start working on something.
I'll still finish the shawl with the yarn, but it's going straight into my "stock for a future online shop" bin with no hesitation once it's finished.
