Moody, you can start with aluminum crochet hooks, they're kinda inexpensive. and if you're near a Michael's, the acrylic Craftsmart yarn also shouldn't cost all that much, but make sure it's a soft yarn. some of the inexpensive acrylic yarn is rough. ew.
