Yeah, I could probably clear out a good 80% of my bookcase just by...reading. There are some books I have because I love the author and the books or series and will re-read them until the end of time. The rest are either books I'm hanging onto because of nostalgia or books that just looked interesting so I got them but ha read them yet. I actually have MANY (like 3 actually) partial Dragonlance series trilogies that were sitting in a little free library. Because, as I discovered, the dragonlance world started out as a D&D setting/world so there are dozens upon dozens of series and books under the main series umbrella by many different authors. And all of my trilogies are missing a single book. XD I imagine those are series that I probably won't hang onto.
But I wouldn't mind filling out the missing books in my harry potter series (preferably from a secondhand store or through a book trade as I'm trying really hard not to give monetary support to Rowling anymore).
And as much as I should be taking on the book shelf, I have instead been eyeing all kinds of books at the library.
Next year, I should take all the books on my shelf that need read and mix in a handful of library books, write them down on paper, and draw them out of a hat. Or bowl. Whatever I have handy. Lol.
No excuses, I have to read my shelf books!
Ah, I used to love Dean Koontz! But then I was reading a book and realized it was VERY similar to the plot of one of his other books (I don't remember which 2 they were anymore though), and that kind of ruined his writing for me. Sometimes I'm tempted to pick some of his stuff up again just because I remember them being pretty easy reads for me.
