Right, the world is not the US! Must be why my dad, during ww2, was punched in the face every day in school in Brazil, since Brazil was against Japan in that war and also he was called 'goat' because east asians usually can't grow facial hair(he did grow a mustache later in life, related? we'll never know). Or why my aunt called Misako had to change her name to Katia to avoid the bullying! Wow kids and their race specific issues today.
About apropriation, yes I do have issues with white people putting on a kimono and saying they're playing a 'geisha' or whatever(about westerns thinking geishas are prostitutes- a whole another book) when they make fun of my last name. You either accept my whole culture or you don't, bitch. You don't get to be a kpopper and then be like 'eww chinese eat dogs so gross'. Fuck that and us immigrants had to be quiet about it for too long and we won't be quiet about it no more.
Also don't @ me I'm mad and I don't want to get banned if you want more info google is free!!!

Here is where I really wish we had a “like” button :(
I completely agree with all you said
And am sorry that they had those experiences
Race has always, and will always be an issue.
As a kid, I experienced loads of racism being a multiracial child in a pretty much, entirely white neighborhood..
And it wasn’t even from the kids, it was mostly from the adults...
My first grade teacher labeled me as a “bad kid”, even though that was far from the truth and she would try to separate me from the other kids. Like, “Okay class, so you know what a negro is? Well, Ava is one! She has dark skin and she’s black.” During Black History month, (mind you, we were in elementary school) they would always show us violent clips of black people getting sprayed with hoses and bitten by dogs
And everyone would turn and look at me, is if I were there when it happened!
That’s why I get so sensitive about my ethnic background sometimes...
I am a mixture of black and mostly German, and I experienced racism from both the blacks and the whites and it really bothers me when people assume racism isn’t a thing anymore?! Of course it is!
As long as there is humans, we’ll find some way to keep ourselves divided.
Edit;
I put it in spoilers because it’s not really a direct response to you and more of a general blanket.
What o really just wanted to say was that I agree.
