I remember reading somewhere that someone wound up covering their cats who wouldn't get along with sardine or anchovy oil and locking them in a bathroom so that they would lick each other clean. It ended up working since the grooming triggered their bonding instinct. It's a desperate measure, but seemed pretty humorous.
