Without being able to observe them myself, it's difficult to say if there are any subtle signs of trouble, but the best way to acclimate 2 cats to each other's presence in a situation like this is (if possible) keep them in separate areas of the house or seperate rooms, but put their food and water on either side of a shared wall so they can get accustomed to each other's smell and also associate each other with good things. This is recommended for at least the first week, or longer if they seem to display agitation still after the first week. But from the sound of it your cats already know each other, so just a few days of separation should be sufficient unless they do display agitation or aggression.
And there will always be little spats and play fighting as they get used to sharing the spaces.
