With hardly another word the principal dismissed Kyriel and gathered some things to head off to where that other pressing matter was.

Bryn had in the back of his mind to intercept Kyriel after the meeting with the principal. But his whole world didn't revolve around that kid, it was just the first friend he made here and likely to be his only. Even an assassin in training like him enjoyed having a companion. Though he got the impression Kyriel didn't like him that much yet...
