I'm in the Northwestern U.S. (central Montana specifically.) Based on mild amounts of research, I think it's a prairie rattlesnake.
Edit: Further research has given me some fun statistics.
There are only 10 species of snake native to Montana.
The prairie rattlesnake is the only one of these species that is venomous.
