it's a way of typing, in which your resting position has your fingers resting on the "home keys"-- "asdf" on the left, "jkl;" on the right. I'm mostly a find-and-peck person, because screw home keys, but I seem to type somewhat accurately while typing, so I must have absorbed some of the lessons
