My dad was just sure that Y2K would cause mass anarchy and built what he later called a "storm shelter" but it was made with four foot concrete walls and he had two gas masks and about fifteen years worth of food stored down there. To this day he insists that he didn't really think Y2K would be that big of a deal, but I remember him sitting up at night making plans.
