Ahh, right, that, I didn't know it messed with the files.

I do think it's really interesting, the difference between how Undertale incorporates its meta by crafting the game world around diegetic powers that resemble game functions whereas DDLC literalizes the game world such that it only consists of two bedrooms, two classrooms, a hallway, and a street, and populated by precisely 5 (6, if you count monster father) people who literally do not exist fictionally when they aren't on screen. (And there's an entire other discussion to be had about the protagonist's presence in the story...)
