Okays! I am gonna post this stuff up on the front page as well, but here are my findings on VRV and HiDIVE
VRV: Made by the parent company that made Crunchyroll. So far 2 Anime Channels are on there, along with some really randomass, weird channels.. One looks dedicated to Adam Savage from Myth Busters >->, Anyway back to the animu.. If you have an account on Funimation or Crunchyroll you can link those accounts on VRV.. Or you can just subscribe to VRV itself and get Premium Access on both CR and Funi. (basically if your subscribed to VRV Premium, you automatically become a CR and Funi Premium user as well)
The free stuff is pretty much the same as if you were on those sites. CR Channel, whats free on CR is free on VRV. For the Funi Channel, Whats free on FunimationNOW is free on the VRV Funi channel (mainly the first 2 eps of something with ads and then the rest is Prem only)
If you are someone who likes Dubs and Subs, VRV might be perfect for you.. If you like just one or the other, then yea.. just stick to what you're doing now, and just link your CR/Funi account to VRV to get access to the Download for Offline Viewing.. (yes they have that on VRV but not on CR. LAME.. CR lied to us QQ!)
VRV app is kinda hard to navigate as well... unless they gt more anime channels (HiDIVE) VRV isn't really all that worth it.
HiDIVE: When Sentai Filmworks split from Crunchyroll (they didn't like the partnership with Funi), the worked with Amazon's Anime Strike for a while. But now they're doing their own thing. HiDIVE. Subs and Dubs of all the stuff Sentai has.
You can watch for free but its limited. Simulcasts are Prem only, Dubs are Prem only, A lot of finished seasons are still Prem Only, Queue feature is Prem only, very few shows are available for free and some you can view on other devices. Their price for Premium isn't much though, 4-5$ If they ever do yearly subscriptions I might get in on it, seeing how they are the ones that get Rinne and haikyuu... they also get other good shows each season.
If Sentai pulls their head out of their ass and just joins in on VRV, that would be better for all anime viewers. But I don't see that happening.
